Sky shrugged, reaching for the bottle again. “You may as well try, right? I mean, anything’s better than just being miserable.”

It was his turn to shrug “That or I’ll probably going to be an alcoholic”

“After this, I’d say that isn’t too bad.” She traced patterns in the dirt with her fingers. “Family problems are just… too complicated.” she sighed.

Jack nodded  “I agree, fuck family!” He declared “So Sky how come I haven’t ever seen you around?”

Sky laughed, smiling at the boy. “Maybe because you’re so tall, and I’m so short?” she asked. “Who knows. I’m wondering why I’ve never seen you, actually.”

Sky hesitated at the bottle, then took it. Taking a gulp, her eyes widened at the unexpected burn. Then she grinned at the warmth in her stomach. “I think I like this.” she told Jackson, giggling. “Have you even told your parents that you don’t want to get married?”

Jackson laughed at her reaction, then sighed “No because I don’t want to let them down…”

Sky shrugged, reaching for the bottle again. “You may as well try, right? I mean, anything’s better than just being miserable.”

“I see a snake, twining around a tree.” She giggled. “All we need is a badger and an eagle, and this picture will be a perfect Hogwarts.”

She couldn’t help but chuckle. “Truth, that is…” She muttered, turning her gaze down onto the dirt below them. “This peace… it can’t last for long. Someone will come along and ruin it like before…”

Sky nodded in assent. “You’re probably right…” she sighed, looking back onto the stars. “Everything falls apart eventually.”

“House unity within the sky.” She chuckled, “Future foretold within the stars? Or just an image that shall never become reality?”

Sky rolled her eyes. “Based on what I’ve seen? The latter.”

“But wouldn’t that be better than a life of complete, abject misery with a girl you don’t know?” asked Sky. “I mean, it wouldn’t be legal or anything… I guess you could just work it out too.” She sighed. “My mom’s just mad I was sorted into Slytherin. So I only talk with my dad now, and she leaves for a vacation whenever I come home.”

He nodded “I guess…” His head was a mess he couldn’t think properly “I’d have nothing, I’m their only child. I’ll just have to try and find a way out of it…” He sighed “That’s really bad” He held out the bottle offering her a drink “Sounds like you need some of this”

Sky looked out onto the lake, pondering the boy’s dilemma. “You could always just separate from them, right?” she asked. “That’s what I did with my mom, anyways.” she shrugged.

He sighed “I can’t…I’d have nothing and pretty much no one” He looked at the girl “So what happened to make you seperate from your mum?”

“Well that was bigger than I thought it would be,” remarked the blonde. “Since we’re sharing, I’m Sky. But back onto the point: Does the girl not go to Hogwarts? And who are your parents, to do this, anyways?”

He sighed “Well it’s nice to meet you Sky. No she goes to Beauxbatons, apprently they’re my parents and we have to keep our family line ‘pure’.” Jackson laughed sourly “It’s all a big joke. Just because they had an arranged marriage…” He took another sip of the bottle.

Looking back at the bottle, Sky raised her eyebrows. “Obviously not.” Settling down near him, she rested her head on her knees and steadily gazed out onto the lake. “Care to share?”

He raised an eyebrow “Where to start?” He looked at the girl “I’m Jackson and my parents want to try and get me to marry some girl that I’ve never even met before. They want me to be someone I’m not and this is the last straw”

Jackson sat in the shade of the trees by the lake, a bottle of fire whiskey hidden amongst the shrubery next to him.

He relaxed looking at the lake, it was glisening in the early afternoon sunlight. As Jackson had decided to skip lessons ttoday after the letter he’d gotten in the post that morning from his so called parents. Waste of spaces more like he thought to himself. They were only interested in him when they needed to show him off to their friends, or try and arrange fucking marriages for him! He punched the ground next to him. Normally not being a violent person but this was the last straw for him. He couldn’t bare his parents trying to control his life anymore. Picking up the bottle and taking another long drink from it he sighed.

Sky wandered down by the lake, her feet bare and robes trailing in the water. She threw rocks into the lake as she went, skipping them once or twice. Suddenly, she heard a sigh and a thud. Jerking her head up, she saw a boy sitting by the water. He looked miserable. “Are you alright?” she ventured cautiously.

Jackson looked up and sighed “I’m fine” He stated, it was a blatent lie but he had to seem okay. Picking up a rock he threw it into the water, it just sank into the water. Like most of his hopes. He thought to himself
